CONNECT: The art of youth participation: building connections to shape our future
THE PROJECT
CONNECT is a 24-month project carried out by a partnership consisting of 9 partners from 8 countries distributed geographically in different areas in the north, south, west and east of Europe: France, Slovakia, Lithuania, Estonia, Serbia, Turkey, Cyprus and Italy.
OBJECTIVES
– Development of tools and sharing of skills for promoting youth participation
– Involvement of young people in the creation of local youth policies
– Creation of physical and digital tools to encourage cooperation between different actors in the European context
– Improvement of cooperation between policy makers, youth organizations and formal education institutions in order to develop local youth policies that could also have an impact at European level – Promotion of the actions carried out within the ERASMUS + Program

– Lack of trust of young people in Europe and in public institutions in general
– Difficulty of young people in understanding the principles and values of the European Union
– Lack of involvement of young people in political processes
– Fragmentation of the measures introduced by civil society to deal with COVID 19

PROJECT ACTIVITIES
– Research on youth policies and models of active youth participation, good practices on participation
– Creation of regional networks made up of youth organizations, at least 1 in each country involved – Platform for sharing good cooperation practices, aimed at facilitating interaction between the various networks of organizations
– International mobility: 1 training course, 2 seminars, 9 job shadowing with the total involvement of 87 youth workers.
Social Support Office for Marathasa Region
The Social Support Office for Marathasa Region was established by the Social Policy and Action Organization with aim to provide any social support or/and other related social services to the people living in the villages Pedoulas, Moutoullas, Kalopanayiotis, Oikos, Gerakies.
